BCCALC (Big Country Community Adult Learning Council) is an adult learner-centered organization that offers a wide variety of courses and/or learner support to adults living in and around Oyen and area.

Our service is made possible through the support of Alberta Advanced Education, Prairie Rose School Division No. 8, our council members and interested volunteers.

The BCCALC follows the Public School Calendar, operation Monday-Friday, …, September-June..

The Big Country Community Adult Learning Council strives to meet your learning needs. If it is a course you are interested in, let us know and we will try our best to set it up for you.

Help is available – FREE! The Adult Learning Centre has a reading and writing project called A.B.L.E. (Adult Basic Literacy Education). ABLE provides help. An adult student is paired with a trained, volunteer tutor. Together they plan the lessons and choose when and where to meet. The lessons are free and all information about the students is kept private.

As well as the Adult Basic Literacy Program, we offer a Preschool Family Reading Program and Books for Babies. For more information on these programs call (403) 664-2060.
