About Us

Big Country Community Adult Learning Council (BCCALC) is a non-profit organization funded by the Government of Alberta’s Ministry of Skilled Trades and Professions.

We offer a wide variety of courses and learner support services to adults living in the Special Area No. 3 region, which includes Oyen, Acadia Valley, Empress, Cereal, New Brigden, Sedalia, Esther, Sibbald, Bindloss, and Buffalo.

Our aim is to assist individuals in achieving their personal and professional goals by providing access to programs and services related to education, career and employment, and community development.

We Believe:

  • Learning is a life long pursuit.

  • Access to education opportunities should be equitable in both rural and urban communities.

  • We should strive to generally improve the community with our activities.

  • There should be opportunities for personal improvement.

  • We should stay focused on the interests and needs of our community.

  • Volunteerism is an integral part of our communtiy.

  • Individual growth leads to community growth and development.
